Topographic Study

Prior to working on my Isolation: islands series and my MFA Thesis work, I had been playing around with topography and studying how landforms are constructed. Time, tectonic shifts, and volcanism were all very helpful. The shapes are non-referencial, not necessarily referring to any landmass in particular.

I wanted to be able to draw some sort of observation of how memories and experiences add to the landscape of people's lives, and layers of experiences, the good, bad, and the ugly. Despite what horrible or tragic things we go through in life, it sets a foundation to other experiences.
